Berkeley

The fog that started on Tuesday (?) finally cleared up today and it's bright and cloudless and sunny! I am in love. Not with a boy. But with this town. I see why Cal students don't want to go home but stay for summer classes. The place is teeming with life and buzz; the streets are colourful. The hills are sooo pretty! The people aren't too friendly or smart (seriously, Singapore is not in China. And stop asking me about Shanghai.) But it's okay, I've met a range of nice people. My roomies are from Nanjing, China and South Korea. There's this Danish dude I click with in class and we go for lunch and I've learnt so much about Scandinavian lives I can't learn in any textbooks. My project mates are non-white Americans. They aren't very well-informed about stuff but at least they are easy to talk to. My TA looks like Miranda Kerr and talks like an angel. Serious eye candy for the guys. Ok I admit I can't help but look at her too. She's quite breathtaking.

At night, I go to the movies at grand looking theatres with wide leg room, climb hills, watch sunsets, sit in the cold, drink beer and commiserate, go back to my room and laugh at my roomies' antics. I do suppers and drive around back home, but it's so different here. I feel SO alive. I'm in love :)
