you play forgiveness/watch it now, here it comes
It's the end of another decade in a few days. On some days it feels like it's back to square one. On others it feels like I can run a marathon, slay some dragons, and dance a jig. Realizing that grief isn't such an ugly word after all. Someone told me (and I read it in a book later): that the grief and tears mean that the wound mattered, that what happened can't just be swept under the carpet and ignored, that God cares that you were in pain. Also learnt that emotional rollercoasters still happen at the ripe old age of 22 and that it's really okay. But here's what's happened in 2009: I did slay some dragons and I did dance a few good jigs. Life is pretty sweet. I wouldn't trade it for any other. |
