it ain't hard to hold when it shines like gold Oddly inspired to blog by reading someone's 1 part dreamy, 1 part pretentious and 1 part earnest blog. But anyway, I'm saddled with one last ever school exam and then I'm done with school...until postgrad studies, if ever. I've been hopeless in instilling discipline to study for it but I feel free as a bird. I'm making plans, doing a dance, holding hands (no to the last two). It IS liberating to have the luxury to find pictures like these: ![]() Polygamy sia! According to Robin, Facebook discriminates against Mormons, Muslims and other polygamists because you aren't allowed to list yourself being in a relationship with more than one person. Especially if you're " in an open relationship". Shouldn't you be allowed to list all the parties involved in that jolly sandwich? I jest, I jest. I also apologize to Robs for always distracting him when we are in the midst of studying. Today I made him rank what are his favorite music genres (sorry for the American spelling in my blog. I got used to it after being forced to stick to it for my thesis). Then it turned into a mini-rant about why I dislike indie music lovers. Dear Robs knows me well enough that it's a personal vendetta. Seriously, though, indie music lovers think they're all that. C'mon la who are you kidding? Your music would never be around if not for predecessors who were ALSO famous and made lots of money and socially conscious music. I'm thinking about the '70s protest music. Bob Dylan, The Who and all their contemporaries. And '70s music had their schweet fashion counterpart. Totally baller. Rad bell bottoms. Kickass platforms. Caftans. Hippie braids. Hippie bands. What does modern indie music have for its sartorial partner? Blunt edged haircuts or the Bob (Eh okay). Skinny jeans(which BTW everyone wears because it is a "safe choice"). Band t-shirt (Oh heavens). Maybe if someone was feeling ironic or "creative", a skinny tie or suspenders. And converse chucks or high cuts. Hmm what's that I hear? '70s music lovers 1, Indie fanatics 0? MOZ DEF. No brainer right! To clarify though: I ain't hatin' on all indie music lovers. Many good people I know love indie. I just can't stand indie snobs who hate on other types of music and forget that most musicians are inspired by some mainstream artists/bands. That, to me, reeks of prick-ness. We all know that pricks are one of the most irritating sort of people around. If Aerosmith can collaborate with Run DMC, indie snobs should be able to listen to a mainstream song and not burst into a tirade of douchebaggery. Aight, I've said my piece. Goodnight! |
